New Year, New Destinations?

Happy Holidays Friends,

Our hope for you for the holidays is that this note finds you surrounded by a community of love, support, safety, and connection. We hope that you have much to celebrate and be grateful for.

  • What is on your wish list for the new year?

  • New year, new destinations?

This can be both metaphorical destinations (emotionally/spiritually) and in the physical sense of destinations.  Where will the coming year take you? Where will you take yourself?

I want to ask you some questions that I hope you’ll take the time to answer mindfully—maybe journal on them or have a thoughtful conversation with a friend.

  • What traditions do you want to carry forward for yourself and those you share your life with?

  • What are the things that give you energy?

  • Truly tap into yourself this holiday season. Ask yourself what would feel good and leave you feeling energized. Do those things, and say “no” to those that drain you.

Traditions are important to me, and flexibility in my life is also essential.  For many, our life overseas may seem non-traditional; however, staying connected to each other and what matters most simply takes intention, communication, and planning.  This year, my family and I are headed to the Maldives, the smallest country in Asia, consisting of islands, gorgeous diving, world-class beaches, and pure serenity.  We plan to spend time on the beach, unplug from the digital world, explore the many islands, play in the ocean, and reconnect with each other this holiday season.  We will pack our Christmas stockings, play games, eat stroop waffles, drink coffee, and have a quiet Christmas day on the beach, hopefully culminating with a bonfire in the sand under the stars on the Indian Ocean.

Molly and I have discovered that soul-stirring experiences give us energy and inspire us to live a more fulfilled life!  We want this for you as well.  What action can you take today that will energize and inspire you?

I am genuinely grateful and humbled for you and our community. I am sending you lots of love, lightness, and reasons for laughter this holiday season.

Warmly,

Lauren
