Meet some of our team in Italy

It can be difficult to explain, but some places carry magic in their bones…

Il Roccone is one of them. Nestled deep in the heart of a nature reserve in Italy’s Siena Province, this hidden sanctuary is more than just a destination—it’s a feeling. At its heart center are three people we are proud to call dear friends: Carlo, Renato, and Elena. Their hard work, vision, and devotion have woven together a place rich in warmth and authenticity that you’ll never want to leave.

To visit Il Roccone with On Point Yoga Adventures isn’t just to tour the Italian countryside; it’s to be welcomed into a world that few visitors to the region ever glimpse—and where three incredible souls will make sure you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

Carlo: The Brilliant Dreamer

Carlo isn’t just the owner and creator of Il Roccone; he is the spark. Full of life and brimming with curiosity, Carlo is always building, creating, and dreaming of what’s next.

Carlo and his family first saw Il Roccone as something no one else did: a possibility. A crumbling, forgotten farmhouse, 150 years old and abandoned to time, was transformed into its current beauty because of his vision and passion. When he isn’t working as an engineer, jetting between Brussels and Rome, his anchors here—whether it’s sharing the magic of the 150 year old pizza oven, or constructing a banquet table of Cypress, designed with a precise and subtle curve to allow every guest to see eachother, or gather chestnuts by hand for a delicious creation,

This is Carlo’s passion: crafting elegant, simple spaces where people don’t simply exist but come alive.

Renato: The Guardian and Steward

Renato moves through Il Roccone like a quiet force of nature. Towering and strong, his Etruscan lineage runs deep, stretching back through generations to pre-Roman times.

He has keen awareness. The firewood is stacked before you even notice the air has turned crisp. If you think of it, Renato has already made it happen. He might be intimidating were it not for his warmth and the twinkle of kindness in his eyes.

Renato likes to believe he doesn’t speak English, but watch his face when he “forgets” this—when he shares a story or laughs at a joke. Suddenly, the words flow almost effortlessly.

Renato is the backbone of this place and treats guests like family.

Elena: The Kitchen Magician

You’ll hear her before you see her—the rhythmic hum of chopping, the clatter of pots, the scent of roasting garlic swirling through the air. Then, suddenly, she emerges from the kitchen—bright purple hair, flour-dusted hands, and an infectious laugh.

Elena’s food is the heartbeat of Il Roccone. Every meal she prepares feels like a love letter to the land.

She pretends to be surprised and flustered every time Lauren and I call her to the table to share her latest creation with us. “Oh non è niente“ (oh, it’s nothing!), she’ll say, waving her hands. But she can’t hide her smile.

If you linger near Il Roccone’s beautiful open kitchen, she’ll show you how to roll out perfect strands of homemade pasta with the same patience and love she pours into every meal.

For Elena, every dish is more than just nourishment. It’s an offering of passion and kindness.

It’s about connections

What makes Into the Wilds of Tuscany transformative isn’t just the stunning landscapes or the deepening of your yoga practice.

It’s the people—the ones who hold this land, who breathe life into it.

On a typical tourist itinerary, you won’t find Il Roccone or meet Renato, Carlo, or Elena. On Point Yoga Adventures curates experiences beyond ordinary travel—experiences that immerse you, transform you, and give you stories to carry home long after you’ve left.

And it’s waiting for you.
